Hello, So, I've got a FC3 machine ( kernel version: 2.6.12-1.1381_FC3smp ) and i've followed the official HOWTO a few times now and the results have actually gotten worse! I am trying to set it up to use a Wacom Intuos 2 USB tablet ( i know, they're old ).
The first time around, the tablet was more or less working - it recognized the pen, could move around the screen, click etc. The only thing that didn't work was pressure sensitivity, which is unfortunately the only thing that is absolutely required in this instance. In this case, the tablet was showing in /dev/input as event2 ( using: xxd /dev/input/event2 yielded a flurry of activity were i to move the pen around the tablet, for reference on my machine: event0 = keyboard, event1 = mouse ). Thinking maybe i had missed a crucial step regarding pressure sensitivity, I decided to re-do the process from scratch. 2nd time around, no difference, tablet works like before, but no pressure sensitivity. 3rd time around, and now, event2 no longer exists it seems. The tablet doesn't work at all anymore, and if i try to do a: xxd /dev/input/event2 all i get is :Segmentation Fault. For the record, event's 0 & 1 are still the keyboard and mouse respectively. I'm at a loss as to what to do now, because I keep hitting a brick wall here, following the HOWTO to the letter and not missing ( at least i don't see any steps i've missed ) anything in it, and yet the problem is getting worse, to the point where now the tablet doesn't even work. Any ideas? am i doing something inherently wrong? or have i missed a crucial step and keep on missing it? Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
