Linux Wacom, I'm attempting to do some "digital inking" with my Wacom device. For those not familiar with the term, I'm basically tracing over scanned pencil drawings to create clean line art.
I'm discovering that it's a little tougher because what I think should be a smooth stroke comes out rather jagged. Sometimes it seems hard to stay going in the direction that I'm intending on moving in. At first I thought this was me simply not being used to the feel of the device. But after some experimentation, it seems like it's impossible to get a truly smooth line. I tried playing with GIMP brush settings, but that kind of thing is not as robust as it is in Photoshop, and there don't seem to be any line smoothing options. I happened to be at a computer store, and they had my model of Wacom hooked up to a Windows machine with Photoshop running. I tried playing with it and discovered that the lines were much smoother and it was much easier to make the line go the direction I intended. So now I'm thinking that the problem might be with Linuxwacom settings. Can anyone suggest anything I might try adjusting in order to try and achieve smoother, straighter lines? Thanks for any advice. -- Dave M G Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft Kernel 2.6.17.7 Pentium D Dual Core Processor PHP 5, MySQL 5, Apache 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
