Jason,

Thank you for responding.

Wow. That sure helped! By setting the devices in the proper order as you
describe, I now have proper brush and eraser orientation in
Wine/Photoshop. Great tip!

Now, I'm faced with the fact that I don't seem to see any pressure
sensitivity within Wine/Photoshop.

In the Brush Presets, under Shape Dynamics, there's "size jitter" and
"Minimum Diameter". In the drop down box between them marked "Control",
I've selected "Pen Pressure". With that on, and the minimum diameter set
to at least 1%, I can draw lines, but the width does not vary as it should.

There is no little yellow triangle with an exclamation mark beside the
"Control" drop down which would ordinarily be there if it did not detect
a tablet with pressure capability (which I know from experience).

So it seems that Photoshop understands there is a pen, understands it
should provide pressure data, but is not using it.

I realize that this might be heading much more into the application
specific zone of questions, but it's possible that this might be a
driver setting or xorg.conf issue, as it was with the brush/eraser
orientation. So I'm just asking to see if that's the case.

Also, on a side note: the pen control is way smoother in Wine/Photoshop
than in GIMP, as was hoped. Very easy to control line direction and not
have any jitter.
