Hello, I have an X41-tablet which uses the linuxwacom serial drivers. I am running ubuntu edgy. When I first boot the machine the tablet works perfectly, but when I put the laptop to sleep the tablet no longer functions. If I re-start the Xserver the tablet works again. Sleep is rather important for a laptop so I would like to get this to work.
I have configured my tablet using this guide: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Installing_Ubuntu_6.10_on_a_ThinkPad_X41_Tablet Including the step to run setserial in acpi/resume.d I am writing here with my question because I think you know the order of things which need to be run to get a wacom device running. And perhaps I can find the element which Ubuntu is not re-initialising properly when returning from sleep. Some things I have noticed. There is no difference in xidump --list Before the computer goes to sleep (when the stylus works) and after. xidump stylus Correctly reports events before, reports nothing after. wacdump -f tcp /dev/ttyS0 Reports junk Bit High etc. before and nothing after. When the stylus does not work and I try cat /dev/ttyS0 All mouse and keyboard is frozen, I cannot even Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to restart the Xserver. I have notices the same effects using the wacom_drv.o which comes in the ubuntu package version 0.7.2 and with the pre-built driver wacom_drv.o from: linuxwacom-0.7.6-4.tar.bz2 I hope that my description makes sense, Thanks for your work getting wacom devices to work, -- Marco ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
