Nice truism. Please explain how this might justify adding additional
complexity when there is already ample evidence that end users cannot
adequately handle that which they already possess.

I don't think it's presumptuous at all. It's my considered opinion.

I have made no such presumption. I have merely attempted to distinguish
the term "need" from "want" (and I have, I believe, conceded the existence
of "want" while questioning the existence of "need"). The burden of proof
to demonstrate "need" lies with those who claim it exists.
