I'm dissapointed at the inefficiency too.  Not theirs.  Yours.

Why write a complaining letter about merging two source trees?

Why didn't you DO it, and write to ANNOUNCE it?

Quite frankly, I wouldn't use the resulting mailer unless you
also embedded a JVM, a Perl interpreter, and an ASCII VRML
renderer.
