Or use "Edit>PasteAsQuotation" from Eudora.

I use Lemmy, which has all of vi plus the mouse works as per windoze.

Believe it or not, MicroStiff Word handles that just fine.
They have a whole bunch of metacharacters, not just newline.
(but not quite a one-to-one match with Unix standards)
