I don't have a hard guideline. It depends on the people and the situation.
Mostly, it comes down to whether there's someone involved who (a) doesn't
want to be, and (b) isn't able to take care of themselves in the situation.
If you have two idiots pummelling each other, I may well not intervene, but
if there's one person bullying someone who can't protect themselves, I will.

True. But -- we both know the other party can take care of themselves. If
you have two heavyweights in the ring, you don't step in if one gets
