www.x-cart.com is the best. I'm using it on a handful of sites and I love it. It's PHP/MySQL and it costs about $200. There are several modules you can get. It works really well and is incredibly easy for customers to admin themselves. It uses the Smarty template engine and is set up really well. All of the text is easily changed by modifying language variables right in the admin interface. It gets my highest recommendation.
Also, if someone built a solution this good in CF (I've searched and none of the CF stores is even in the same ballpark IMHO), you could sell it for 200-300 bucks a pop and make an absolute fortune. Here are a few of my x-cart sites. www.exclusivelyfitz.com www.shakinitup.com (still in dev) www.lockerboss.com/xcart www.boutiquebotanica.com -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chad Olivier Sent: Tuesday, November 02, 2004 10:28 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: ecommerce systems I'm looking for an ecommerce system. Has anyone used any third party systems for this? Here is what I need: Easy to add/update items in the store handle taxes multiple types of shipping multiple payment options including directly processing credit cards. Niceties of course: open source free or cheap licensing I have written/maintained ecommerce sites in the past for previous employers but I now have a client on a side line solo gig that wants a shopping system so I want to look at alternatives to building my own to save on time of building one myself for now.
