Out on Flex and that's depressingly final!

Well, I’m very unhappy, but I think I’m finally finished with all of my research on what direction I’ll be taking as I really start to concentrate on RIA development. It has, by no means, been a fair and unbiased study. I’ve tried and tried to justify going with Flex, but despite my best efforts, in the end I have failed to do it. I’ll be using the Laszlo Presentation Server and it is almost entirely due to cost. $12K is absolutely ridiculous – absolutely and completely. I’m upset with Macromedia about the whole issue. This is a relatively new area, into which I believe they should be doing all they can to drag developers and businesses. I think they’re going about it all wrong. At half of the price, I’d still be on the bubble to justify it, but I’d probably be able to do it.   Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, who has some good Laszlo experience to share? Any of you guys using it? Anybody had any troubles or had to overcome any serious obstacles? Has anyone had any really ground-breaking success using it with CF? I’m about to break down the sample Dashboard application and build it all out for my own use. Has anyone else gone at that one yet?   I’d appreciate any information or advice anybody has to offer and I’m also open to hearing any of you Flex guys tell me why I’m wrong!   --Ferg
