It would be no problem if the music that Denise is distributing was all
created by her, but the nature of her work entails using other people's
work and encorporating it into her own.

Whether or not BMI even has any legal right to the music Denise is using
is a whole nother question altogether to which we are unsure.  Given the
size of BMI, it would not surprise me if a number of the records Denise
mixes from are licensed through BMI.

However, because of Copyright law, Denise needs to obtain permission from
every record label she uses in a mix before distribution.  Unfortunately,
this sounds like a long and tedious process.
