Hmm lots to catch up to... Several big-can-of-worms threads brewing there :) Just a quick point on this one. I have Gundam Century (reissue) and I really appreciate Mark's translation. I'm printing it out (as I type) to put inside my GC. His whole Data Evolution is laying out exactly why I got cynical about the so-called "settei" or "canon". I can't wait to see him uncover when and how Acguy grew from 16.8m, 37.9 / 97.2 tons (Gundam Century 1981) to 19.2m, 91.6 / 129.0 tons (MS Enc, MAHQ). Anyway, having read the parts on Dom and Rick Dom, I am only more convinced that Dom and Rick Dom were different only in name and technobabbles. There was no externally visible differences until the MG and HGUC models. This is really really strange, if you look at MSV, 0080, 08MST and 0083, the artists themselves are never shy to give MS bold new color schemes, backpacks, HMT boosters, conduction cables, weapons and proportion and surface details. But why did no one create a visible variant for a "space type" Dom? Take even Char's Zaku, the external difference between different models (esp. PG's leg boosters) is far more conspicuous than the difference between Dom and Rick Dom in any reference book and product line. Having said all that... to get back to my original point, it is worthwhile to buy/build both Dom and Rick Dom? My (personal) answer is still no, but it's a _weak_ no.
