Yeah... now I remember reading something like that, faulty memory strikes again... Of course I never gave it a thought until now. 0079 was mono, never expected it to be anything else. I should give a try, just to hear the new SFX. I am ambivalent about the idea, the old 1979 sounds have a lot of cheesy bits that just scream 70s, but then... that's how it sounded, changing it seems a little like colorizing Charlie Chaplin. > -For 0083, you'd have to check Gunota for more details (too lazy to check > myself). Voice acting doesn't really need 5.1 anyway, the important thing is SFX for mecha scenes. > -As to Zeta TV being in stereo, that's just an educated guess based on the > time it aired and when Dolby Stereo technology was introduced. Sure but how closely does anime studios follow the tech advances? On a related question, has there been ANY anime broadcast in HDTV yet? The first HDTV broadcast I know about was one of the Olympics (Atlanta? Nagano?) and the current HD broadcast are mainly sports, PBS nature shows and primetime shows. Don't know who will take the first plunge and do a HD anime/animation. -- Dr. Core -------------------------------------------------- The Gundam Mailing List MK-II [email protected] Archives: http://www.gundam.com/gml Help: Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with this in the BODY: help list
