Hey now! ;) I'm 26 and I still buy MSIA's and cool toys, errr, ACTION FIGURES that is.

G-Gen doesn't really have real continuity so much as inside references, though, does it? While I haven't played any of the games, my understanding is that the games don't really follow continuity. You might understand certain references if you're famliar with continuity, but that's pretty much it.

My guess is that the reason that they brought over MS Saga was simply due to the massive market share that console RPGs have. It makes sense to release the type of game that people are buying. Unfortunately, that means that when you do release a console RPG, you'd better have something that makes it stand out from the crowd as a superior product (or have the name Final Fantasy tacked onto the title - though I've heard that XII has received at least one spectacularly postive review in Japan, so maybe the latest one will actually be a solid game; but I digress).

On the other hand, while the market for tactical turn-based strategy games is starving for new product, there's a reason that it's like that. Despite the popular acclaim of games like Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Disgaea, games in that genre don't appear to sell nearly as well here in the US. So the best turn-based tactical console game probably won't sell nearly as well as a semi-decent console RPG.

Given that, releasing an RPG instead of G-Gen makes sense. Unfortunately, you have to have a semi-decent console RPG first, and MS Saga fails in that aspect.

The G-generation games are made by Banpresto aren't they? Maybe some sort of intra-corporate red tape blocking the way?

Anyway I think Bandai wants to keep gundam as simple as possible in N. America so the little kids won't be turned away. Thus we get action games and toys, and SD gundam. At least that was the strategy, I gather the head offices in Japan have wrested control of the franchise from Bandai Entertainment, about 6 months ago? Ugh, Bandai rants are getting off topic....(reins self in)

I suppose we might get U.C. Climax? It would be kind of sad to have MS saga be the last gundam game in the U.S.--wait, isn't there another seed game coming out?
