Hi guys!

am back from the dead, so to speak...just got myself connected via a Canopy
wireless "DSL" internet connection.

I.
saw the following stuff in the net, from various sources:

1) 1/100 Legend gundam
looks good, and the thigh proportion looks like it can do kneeling poses - not
that the Legend ever really kneels out in space. The proportions look good,
but the head looks a bit small.

2) 1/144 HGGS Strike Noir (Noerl, rotfl)
Another Strike variant - which makes one wonder, how many of those things were
really made? Also, the concept of the multi-weapon backpack seems to be the
tone of the day, from the IWSP to the Destiny to the Noir...

3) 1/100 MG Gyan
Looks like a good rendition of the Gyan, chock-full of details and a light-up
beam sword. Personally, though...I think I can make do without the gimmick if
it would mean less on the price tag. But that's Bandai for you.

4) 1/144 HGUC Zaku I
It looks good, being able to replicate the Shoulder Attack, but is that
bazooka rest on its shoulder a retcon, as well as the handheld rocket that's
stowed on the shield puncher? I sort of wish it had the colony-gassing weapon,
too.

5) 1/100 Infinite Justice
The latest in the Athrun Zala MS collection (this guy is racking up quite a
collection of MS's). The shield is overly large, but has all the gimmicks that
rate it as a swiss army knife among MS shields. The head, again, seems small.

6) GFF God and Nobel Gundams
The God GUndam has uber large external claws, and the Nobel is...still the
Nobel. Impressive detail on the Nobel would have to be the fact that the
"expanded" Berserk Hair mode is not a swap-out, but that the various hair
plates are actually hinged to expand into said mode.

7) GFF ZII
Question: was this MS really official? I have the SD Musha version of it, but
this is the first time i've seen it treated as an official MS. It reminds me
of the Methuss.

II.
It's been a great year for gundam in the Philippines, as sales have been
getting better. Also, the local distributor, Ban Kee Philippines, has been
sponsoring the prizes for the Mechapinoy in-house contests, the latest being
here: http://www.mechapinoy.net/events/c_rx78.htm

There's also been a lot of activity in the regional Bandai Action Kits Asia
Contest (not so sure about exact wording, but locally known as BAKAC):
http://www.mechapinoy.net/events/bakac2005_winners.htm - unfortunately, our
hosts in Hong Kong were rather destructive in the unpacking and repacking of
our kits, and many suffered serious damage - that can be seen over in
fichtenfoo's forum threads on the subject. Still, Bandai has given their
apologies, and are said to be taking steps to make sure such happenings are
minimized or prevented altogether in the future.

It's nice to be able to get going on the ML again. Hallo to all the
old-timers! nice to see you guys are still active.
