okay, after going through a lot of my older books, I found the orginal

Ok thanks for the hard work. See the thread is heading towards 30+
message without any injection of facts :)
During your research, did you notice when did Old Zaku/Zaku became
Zaku I/Zaku II? When did MS-05/06 numbers appear? Who was
responsible?
I am curious too how and when Gyan became MS-15 (MSIA) and YMS-15
(HGUC). Looking at all those MS prefixes (esp. in the original MSV),
I wonder if things was consistently thought out from day one, Old Zaku
should have been designated YMS-06 (or YMS-05).
EMS-10 was the rival unit in development vs MS-05 line. it lost the contract
Ahh... I didn't know that. No wonder it's butt ugly. So MS Igloo is
taking a War in the Pocket/Stardust Memory approach eh. Suddenly
there's a whole alternate line of MS to rival the Zaku/Gouf line.
Like how comic writers can insert infinite amount of side stories in
between Star Wars movies.
One more topic: MSV (1984) seems to say that Dom descended from Gouf
Flight Type which in turn descended from Gouf. Making a single
lineage out of Old Zaku-Zaku-Gouf-Dom. But then the current
understanding of canon seems to say Dom followed a wholly independent
line of development. Your perspective?
