I finally had two minutes to check my Roman Album (1980). Page 117
has that 3/4 view with cutaway showing most (not just some) of the
decks. It shows pretty clearly the "arms" are pretty much all devoted
to MS garage and launch strips, the very forward part of the "body" is
the Gunperry garage, the round things on the "shoulders" are the
megabeam cannons, and the "hind-legs" are the main propulsions.
What's not clearly shown are the bigger portion of the body and the
tower (there are many "floors/decks" but it's not clear what their
purpose are. Interestingly, this figure is credited with
"Collaboration / Arcadia) and is in a different pen-style than the
free-hand style lineart for the rest of the book. To me it seems
that this diagram of the WB's internals was a post-production work.
On page 118 there is a small figure (about 1/5 of the page) side-view
with cutaways for most of the ship. Most importantly it's annotated.
::: digression :::
You know I have had this book for over 6 years now (I traded for it
with an ex-active GML member) and flipped it hundred of times. Now I
finally scrutinize this diagram so I can sound smarter and discovered
a bunch of _new_ things...
(I won't repeat the more obvious things like where are the 1st and 2nd
bridges, weaponry etc. )
The red "belly" of the WB's body is "Principal mechanical chamber"
(perhaps a loose parallel to Star Trek's engineering deck?)
A large part of the aft body is labelled "(can't read) residence(?)
operation room"
The "hind legs" are further labelled seperately: (from forward aft)
"Magnetic compression equipment for main(?) reactor(?)", "Main(?)
atomic reactor(?) (nuclear fusion reactor)" and "Main(?) engine(?)"
The "neck" of the tower contains a "Officers' ready room".
The top and bottom surface of the wings and around the blue rim of the
round "shields" are all covered with solar cells.
Interspersed between the solar cells around the blue rim of the round
"shields" are "Minovsky(?) particle generator". The four sets of
triple black slits on the blue rim are "Minovsky(?) particle ejection
nozzles (radar(?) micro(?) wave interference particles)"
And then the big one...

was, in fact, such a cutaway view that revealed to me that what I'd previously
though to be a vertically-mounted "drum" for the gravity block were, in fact,
merely shields for the side gun turrets.
I hope you are happy to be proven wrong... that is, to be right
originally. It's a bit hard to interpret at first (it's all kanji,
but kanji isn't exactly chinese) anyhow... comparing page 117 and 118
carefully, I am pretty confident with the following translation:
"Behind the round shield, in the main body of the ship is residence
area (equipped with artificial gravity)"
If you find your 3/4 view diagram again, look carefully: the gravity
block is inconspicuous but it's there.
On page 118 there are many detailed reference line art for most of the
interior scenes, including two small diagrams with captions that I
would translate/guestimate as "gravity block corridor interior" and
"elevator in the gravity block"

My intention was to make a little board game of that episode of first Gundam
where Ramba Ral and his commandos invade the WB.
I think there are enough solid reference material to cover all the
major scenes in first Gundam. There are a few minor gaps you need to
fill in yourself... e.g. where are the jail cells for Corsun, Amuro
and Sayla? Was the gravity block big enough for all the Side 7
refugees? If not, where were they housed? Where was the comm room
used by Corsun? What was the shortcut used by Amuro when he escorted
Matilda from the MS flight deck to the bridge? I think these are
fairly minor issue. There seems to be enough to make not just a
"little" board game, but a complete to-scale interior for a game...
Hmm how about Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell?
Cool stuff.
