>>>>>>>>> Ever since Wing & to a MUCH greater extent SEED came out, Gundam mecha have become too derivative for me. I'm not saying they're "bad" per se, they're just too derivative.
Being derivative isn't necessarily bad, it's just the way in how derivative designs are executed. I do like many of Wing's & SEED's designs, I just dislike the designs with 8 zillion guns, spikes, fins, ETC. While Gundam is fantasy, I like a moderate amount of practicality mixed in with tasteful flashiness. >>>>>>>>>>> The problem is that if you change the formula too much than it isn't Gundam. It isn't so much being derivative as it is being repetitive. The only Gundam series in recent years that actually broke the formula was Turn A. There have been variations in the enemies in other series, but the Gundam has remained somewhat static. -------------------------------------------------- The Gundam Mailing List MK-II [email protected] Archives: http://www.gundam.com/gml Help: Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with this in the BODY: help list
