Missed it, but official site confirms it, and the boy's location in
Japan (but how odd that his name is a mash-up of Kanji (a weird name

You're right!  I forgot that bit.  But those religious robots are
later on the wrong side of the frontline with HRA (not sure if MS
models are aligned with religion/ideology).  So the three main powers
are still relatively secular, perhaps?

Who's clearly in the know within CB.  So far everything CB says and
does publicly and covertly are in the WTF? category but in such an
over-the-top manner.  The creators have dug themselves a deep hole in
just two episodes, they may dig themselves out of it or it may become
the biggest stink bomb in Gundam history, either way it's not to be
missed!
