Eh. I've seen lots of anime, some of it quite popular, that
disagrees. Look at, say, Bleach. Or Naruto. No overabundance of girly
men in either.
By now you should find wild hair and feminine men in anime to be the
expectation rather than the exception right? It's like complaining
about chocobos in Final Fantasy, if you don't like chocobos, don't
play FF games!
Or don't watch anime that's devoid of such nonsense. Problem is that
*used* to include Gundam. That's less and less true these days, sadly.
