ICANN Announces International Education and Public Outreach Support in
Collaboration with Alexander Ogilvy
Los Angeles, Calif. - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and
Numbers (ICANN) announced today that Alexander Ogilvy and its parent
company Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide will provide support for its
international education and public outreach programs. The firms'
offices in major cities worldwide will assist the new organization
through a structured program of event support, educational materials and
media coordination.
Esther Dyson, Interim Chairman of the ICANN Board, said "We're looking
forward to the ability to use the well-known strengths of Alexander
Ogilvy in our programs to reach and hear from the diverse constituencies
of ICANN. Together, we can advance the goals of our new organization in
fostering strong and stable growth of the Internet around the world."
COOK:
what a pathetic joke:
no wonder these clowns are going to spend more than a million bucks between
now and June
this stuff doesn't come cheap........
This *IS* the intenet esther...... you aren't just selling soap you know???
event support? lessee..... will you have young women and men in singapore
dressed as cheer leaders handing out Support ICANN buttons?
ICANN's gold platted PR sez:
The growing size and
international importance of the Internet has necessitated the creation
of a technical management body that is both more formalized in
structure, and more fully reflective of the geographic diversity of the
Internet community.
COOK:
Give us a break esther. Why did you elevate ANOTHER australian to head
the ICANN government relations group??? do you have even a little clue of
the reaction in china, hong kong, singapore, the philipines of the slap in
the face represented by the choice of someone from Japan and australia for
the board?
you offer pindar wong a seat on the NSI software review committee....wow.
heaven forbid you turn to him or laiana greene for the gov't committee...
OH, yeah.... what did you learn at the ripe meeting? that mike roberts
hasn't rammed through the IP registries a plan to satisfy the desires of
the corporations giving money to the GIP?
will you have an address SO proposal that the heads of ripe, arin, apnic
and afrinic will sign? i wouldn't bet on it.
Forgive me Esther..... I realize that I am being emmotional and
personal.... but you are widely upheld as being a guru who understands this
new 21 st century technology. Your track record with ICANN so far shows
your reputation is built on quick sand. If it wasn't and if you could
defend what you are doing in public on the net, I have to assume that you
would do it instead of paying a 19th century PR to tell us why we should
be happy with your puppet show.
