I'll be gone until late afternoon (flying to Texas to attend the Dallas
conferece <g> and if you believe that, then you know donkeys can fly), but
whoever compiles this digest has my permission to incorporate my comments
on this list into the digest.
I do not think this 9 member ICANN board is qualified as regards DNS to
establish the accreditation guidleines without input from the SOs.
Further, those guidelines should be designed ONLY for the 5-registrar
testbed and in no way expressed to extend beyond that specific activity.
That's why it's called a testbed.
I think it is an act of bad faith that the ICANN board did not place on its
agenda a review of Article 3, Sections 1 and 2, which, if I read the bylaws
correctly, would be where holding open board meetings and public roll call
votes by the board members would be written.
And finally, any wording in the guidelines that goes to trademark interests
and dispute resolution should be stricken until these issues have been
fully flushed out. There's an expression that goes, why is there always
time to do things over but never time to do them right from the beginning.
Words to that effect.
