I do. Why is it $1 instead of, say, $0.50? What happens if they come back two years
from now and say it has to be $2? This is a "taxation" model of ICANN support and we
DON'T want to go down that road. This type of arrangement gives ICANN an incentive to
veto or make illegal alternative industry arrangements that might threaten its
revenue base. This turns ICANN into a government of the Internet that could, over
time, develop a truly enormous revenue base that is completely unrelated to the
services it provides.

Membership support is a better model, more similar to low-key, industry
standardization bodies.
