One more comment to add here. You say united we stand divided we
fall, but I say if we accept flawed leadership for the sole purpose of
presenting a united front, we do ourselves more harm in the long run.
Much like Dave's constant mantra of accepting as much compromise as
possible in order to add new TLDs as quickly as possible. Both
courses of action lead to detrimental results.

If, however, the ICIIU were to open itself up as an actual membership
organization, with a charter that permitted the membership to make
substantial decisions, including decisions about its leadership, it
might garner a substantial base of support. But for that to happen,
Mr Sondow would have to accept the possibility (probability?) that the
membership would not elect to have him be their representative.

He has placed himself in such a confrontational role, and developed
such a reputation for his behavior, that his leadership would have
serious disadvantages.
