You might also be surprised by the number of people who find no reason
to point to the alternative roots. Not because they are afraid of things
being broken, but simply because there is no compelling business/pleasure/
whatever reason that they *need* the alternative roots.
I can use myself as an example. I run my own DNS, so of course I could
easily use the alternative roots. But the plain fact is that except for
Richard Sexton's email address @tangled.web, I've never run across any
references to the TLDs which are only available in the alternative root
servers. No email addresses, no URLs, zip, nada. (I'm sure they exist -
but *I* don't come across them in my daily work.)
And *one* email address isn't going to make me change my DNS setup - I'd
rather continue to change Richard Sexton's email address back to @vrx.net
when I have to reply to him.
