Ken,
This "silliness" is what we are about. We provide wholesale domain name
registration services to those that want to buy wholesale domain names.
As I mentioned earlier, we took extraordinary steps to ensure that
RegisterFree's promotion did not affect the performance of our other
resellers. I suppose that we could have just let them nail the OpenSRS
core array for an hour and given them the same treatment as everyone else.
Further, your conclusion that this promo and the delay in the new software
release is somehow related doesn't resonate in the least. Software
developers typically develop software and network engineers and admins
build and run networks. The sum total contribution of our LA dev team was
a piece of fast query code to run lookups against a local DB - roughly 2
hours of time.
As far as the troubles that you encountered getting to the server - again
isolated incidents.
Personal commment:
My apologies if my manner is somewhat abrasive, but quite frankly this
entire evening has been less than pleasurable and as far as I'm concerned,
would not have been an issue had NSI not dropped the ball with the
registry.
