Also I forget to mention other groups do meet during the day like
Infraguard Jax[1], who has members that work for some larger entities.

What it comes down to is if the meetings have any correlation to your
job, and/or company. If attending a meeting would not benefit you at
your job, and/or your employer, then it can be hard to justify such. It
really depends on how serious things are viewed by the employer. But
this area really needs to embrace the potential that Linux has in store.
