Since internet connections are basically stateless, there is no real
effective way to let the server know that the browser is closed. Depending
on what you are trying to accomplish, you might want to look into using
onSessionEnd().
In an application that we are working on, we hold all of a user's data in a
session based object. We only commit to the database on two scenarios: a)
The user actively hits 'save', or b) onSessionEnd().
By using this method, we can do what we need to whether the user saves,
closes their browser, or any other end of their session..
