Ron,

I cut and pasted your exact code into a completely blank document and saved it as test.htm on my desk top. I double clicked the new icon on my desktop and the script ran perfectly.

calling the function as you are isn't the problem. I'd check to see that you have _javascript_ enabled on your browser.
