Yes that's exactly what I'm trying to do. The ajax I'm working with can execute a cf template and display the cf result. Seems to execute cf code but not that block of javascript code. I have not tried Rick's method of wrapping the javascript in CDATA...not exactly sure how to do that...yet...:)

It seems that since javascript is a browser based script language and since your template never reaches a browser, it would never get executed.
