And do you know how much we will spend in Tax dollars for all those government organizations to swith from ColdFusion to Ruby on Rails? Give me a break....
Of course, we are all a little biased here, of course, but if you simply look at the number of Jobs posted on CF-Jobs compared with one year ago at this time, it is obvious that demand for programmers is going higher. And, as both a developer, and a recruiter, I can tell you that there are too many CF jobs and not enough developers to fill them (at least not enough that want to work on-site). Yet another benefit showing that because of demand, many CF developers are getting the opportunity to work OFF-SITE because no one can find one to come work in Timbuktoo. Oh yeah, I wonder if we compared the number of CF developers who work OFF site to the number of .NET developers who work OFF site, relative to the TOTAL number of developers, who would win? I use this as an indicator, because off site development proves that the company has a demand for a skill that they are willing to allow someone to telecommute (in most cases anyway - sometimes it's also logistics). Apparently, we are all doing SOMETHING right.... I'd be willing to bet that they haven't looked at CFML since version four (or there abouts) of ColdFusion. Also, It's pretty difficult to prove his point since a lot of CF programs aren't accessible to the public. Quick! Someone tell Boeing that they're using a dead language! Also, to quote (or paraphrase) Quintin Tarantino, "The less apt a man is to make declarative statements the less apt he is to look foolish in retrospect."
