I know it's not exactly downtown, but with Dallas rush hour it is still very
difficult. My point was more to the fact that with the size of the
metroplex and the traffic, there is not a good place to have it that would
be easy for everybody. That was it and to make a second for the remote
connect ability .. I will head back to the dark corner to lurk now.

Jeff, you realize that we don't meet in downtown Dallas right? :)

After countless discussions on this matter, it has been decided that we will
try to keep the meeting location in generally the same area we are meeting
currently. Moving to other areas of the metroplex is not on the table for
discussion at the moment. There are at least 3 people that I am aware of
that attend every meeting driving 30-40 miles from the north/northeast,
myself included, which is roughly the same distance as many in Tarrant
County that show up ritually at every meeting. I think it would be
difficult to make a case for turning that in to 60-70 miles for one or the
other.

I am completely aware that we cannot make 100% of the people happy 100% of
the time, but we are certainly doing our best to try.

Just to chime in here, I am based out of north Frisco, so most of the time
having meetings in downtown Dallas prevents me from making it and Ft. Worth
would be even worse. From a geographic standpoint, DFW is really too big
for a single CFUG, but that is another debate. I would like to see a remote
connection / connect option as I would be much more likely to attend and
contribute.

I would probably attend if the meetings were in the Arlington to Ft Worth
side of the metroplex. I am in Stephenville and Dallas.. Is just way too far
for me, but I know I am probably a minor segment of the users group.

Fort Worth would be great for me. The current location is too far for me
now from west Fort Worth and then home to south Tarrant county. I quit my
last job because of that same drive. Maybe a location more in the mid
cities would be perfect.

Dave,

Before I even ask the boss - would people be willing to travel to North Fort
Worth? We could comfortably handle 25 people, but not much over that. The
room is about 5 feet wider and 12 - 15 feet long than where we are - the AC
will stay on and internet is available.

BTW, make sure to check comment below the post by Ed Sullivan:

"If any company or organization is willing to provide meeting space for te
group for at least one year, I would be willing to offer that organization
their choice of the CS3 Design, Web or Production Premium suite!"

Not bad incentive!
