Dave,
We are not talking about 'various regions' of the metroplex. We are talking about a HUGE geographical area that includes two major metropolitan areas that is served by only one meeting. It seems to me that it would be natural that at some point, a DFW CFUG group would multiply into two DCFUG and FWCFUG user groups. I would assume that per Adobe user group administration that the FW CFUG would need its own board and leader as well if it became it's own user's group. And I don't think it would be fair to YOU for those of us in the FW area to expect you to drive that much farther just for us. I'm just suggesting discussion right now, and I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to 'splinter' the group, but the fact remains that there are those of us who would very much like to be regularly involved in monthly CFUG meetings that are not doing it because the drive is too far. Yes, we made the drive to see Ben Forta but heck, there was someone there from Houston if I remember, so who wouldn't? Imagine how many more CF developers we might be able to reach with two full groups? Maybe even a 'quarterly' event where both groups get together, etc. I'm just throwing out ideas right now. The fact that we are looking for a new meeting location has to do only with our attendance numbers, which have almost doubled in the past year, and nothing to do with changing to a different part of town. There is no plan to fracture the group at this time into two areas, and I would really hate to our CFUG splinter into two groups. I already drive almost 40 miles to the meeting now, and making tacking on another 25-30 just simply isn't going to happen, and from a time commitment standpoint, I am not able to double my current time commitments to cover two groups, including finding two sets presenters (and preparing presentations), taking care of two sets of giveaways, and taking care of sponsors. As the manager of this CFUG, that would mean that I would be completely oblivious to half of what the user group is doing, and I cannot see that working very well. I will discuss it with the board and other key members, but I would urge you all to not expect us to form "chapters" for various regions of the Metroplex. ~Dave On 9/13/07, Marlon Moyer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Third Tuesday's I could do. It seems every freakin' organization wants to have their meetings on the first or 2nd Tuesday which conflicts with every other organization. :) On 9/13/07, Tom Woestman < [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > Hi Dave, > > > > Being from the Fort Worth side and driving an hour to each meeting it would > be great if the meetings were closer.
