another popular choice is to use services similar to OpenDNS
(www.opendns.com), where you can choose the type/kind of sites you wish
your users to get access to, and use that DNS service in your pfsense
box. Most such services are free (or very nominal charge), and are used
by many schools/offices/corporate groups to restrict access to different
sites (not just facebook, but almost anything you may be needing).
