Maybe some of you can share your work on how to do encryption/decryption of
attachments with good performance.

You can all edit pages on the wiki of openpgp.js (hint), I think having a place
where this is described would help me and a lot of other people.

Thanks, Barry

Hi all,

as you know in the GlobaLeaks project we are working on trying to
improve the performances of openpgp.js with particular reference to
long payloads (file attachments) and streaming capabilities.

Today i was retesting our patches and i was implementing a simple file
encrypter/decrypter to be used for acquiring some performance stats.

what i found is that currently it's somehow impossible to encrypt a
payload of 42MB without having ~2GB of available ram and with very low
performances (on a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4300U CPU @ 1.90GHz i take
various minutes).
ive tested the same app that you find attached on various versions
current, 1.0.0, 0.10.1 and the best performances are in the latest
even if they are the terrible one described above.

attached you find the simple app; can someone run it and verify if i'm
doing something wrong or if it's a matter of some latest bug?

ciao,
