Since you said you could upload to an anonymous ftp site, it would seem that your problem might not be REBOL; therefore, I was trying to think of things that might break at the server. Incidentally, was the anonymous ftp site a different server, or a different session on the same server? Did you create the directory yourself? Is it possible that the directory still has some paranoid default permission settings? You might try getting an ls on the parent directory? I've had the occasional experience of being the owner of a Unix directory without having write permission, so I thought I'd check. -jn-
