Honestly I didn't even consider it. Not even that familiar with it. In fact 
upon seeing your reply the first thing I did was read up on it briefly. 
Coordinates, shapes, areas, the works and it can be used with a number of 
attributes. I'm intrigued.

I did note it lacks some backwards compatibility (noted in HTML but not 
noted in XHTML). I do wonder about things such as adequate link separation 
and assistive technology support. I feel comfortable offering these hotspots 
in the form of a list of links, but the "Map" element, by virtue of its 
name, seems like it might carry a lot of weight. Not sure if it would be in 
the right direction though.

I figured I'd ask here on the list. Since this *seems* to be a less-common 
element, it may be worth some discussion. I'd like to hear some comments 
about this from the group.
