now, as a designer, are you saying that you would rather your users saw jaggy graphics which had been zoomed in opera, or smooth text which had been resized in any browser at all. It's not up to designers or developers to tell people which browsers to use ... perhaps you want to have a graphic which says "Best viewed at 1024x768 in Opera"??! ;D > > One of my bete noires is sites which break when the text is > > resized a couple of "notches" up. I see this _so_ often, and > > it irks me. > > Again, the zoom feature of Opera overcomes this. > Personally, I'm not a fan of the Opera zoom feature ... precisely because it affects grahpics and text alike. It makes a page look terrible (which, in turn, makes it difficult to use). Simply resizing the text is a far more efficient and effective solution, IMHO > In fact, so many of these accesibility problems can be solved > if all browsers had a zoom feature. Interestingly, pages I see which are well marked-up also tend to have good, simple, accessible designs ... partly because there are no superfluous "hooks" for purely visual adornments, and partly because the people who make them tend to be aware of accessibility issues.
