While I agree that style information should primarily be held in CSS, if it is to be kept out of the HTML then the next best option is in JavaScript. The suggestion here is to use 'progressive enhancement' which has been welcomed every other time it has been suggested on this list. Again though; double-spacing is wrong. Don't do it.
