i am doing a complete redesign of my site. the menu on the current site is out dated for how i want to present the work. i have been designing with xhtml and css for a couple of years now and i have a good grasp of the principles. the version of the menu i have now is a tree of the main links to main pages, so i know how to do a list.
i have adapted the css and javascript from nick rigby's ala article because the menu is vertical with horizontal flyouts, but it is not accessible with js turned off or in ie6 (interesting, ie7 works like "modern" browsers). here's the javascript problem i have. i don't know how to implement it. i have not learned js yet (nor php or mysql for that matter), but there are future plans for js classes. i have looked at tjk design's article, but that seems to be for a horizontal menu with a vertical drop down. would someone give some guidance or, at this point, offer a solution that would fit the bill for usability and accessibility as does the tjk design menu does for my vertical menu? i posted this request to another list and have not received a response in several days and i thought i would try here. i am trying to use best practices. the web site is an art site so there is much detail work to be done. when i get the menu working across browser land i plan on putting the new site up and work on the details once it's up. the test page address is : http://www.alforddesigngroup.com/sandbox/abstract-art-pictures.html the css: http://www.alforddesigngroup.com/sandbox/css/studiokdd1.css the javascript: http://www.alforddesigngroup.com/sandbox/css/kddmenu.js looking forward to your responses. dwain ******************************************************************* List Guidelines: http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm Unsubscribe: http://webstandardsgroup.org/join/unsubscribe.cfm Help: [EMAIL PROTECTED] *******************************************************************
