Well, you are right. It's a qmail issue.

I do not really want to depend on the client, as I need to use different MUAs on
different PCs at different locations. Hence, I am trying do get the central mailserver
(qmail) to retain a copy of all outgoing mail. But as Jonas suggested: this is perhaps
a qmail issue.

The following is, I belive, related to bincimap. When creating new folders from the
MUA (KMail 3.1.0 or Mozilla 1.2.1) I am not allowed to create top-level folders, they
all end up as sub-folders of Inbox. For example if I create the two sub-folders "DSP"
and "XX", my "Maildir" directory looks like this:

total 48
drwx------ 7 sigmund sigmund 4096 Mar 5 12:02 .
drwx------ 3 sigmund sigmund 4096 Mar 5 10:36 ..
-rw------- 1 sigmund sigmund 217 Mar 5 12:01 bincimap-cache-INBOX
-rw------- 1 sigmund sigmund 48 Mar 5 12:01 bincimap-subscribed
-rw------- 1 sigmund sigmund 63 Mar 5 12:01 bincimap-uidvalidity-INBOX
-rw------- 1 sigmund sigmund 62 Mar 5 12:01 bincimap-uidvalidity-INBOX.DSP
-rw------- 1 sigmund sigmund 62 Mar 5 12:02 bincimap-uidvalidity-INBOX.XX
drwx------ 2 sigmund sigmund 4096 Mar 5 12:00 cur
drwx------ 5 sigmund sigmund 4096 Mar 5 12:01 .DSP
drwx------ 2 sigmund sigmund 4096 Mar 5 11:52 new
drwx------ 2 sigmund sigmund 4096 Mar 5 11:51 tmp
drwx------ 5 sigmund sigmund 4096 Mar 5 12:02 .XX

Should there be two entires, i.e. booth ".DSP" and "bincimap-uidvalidity-INBOX.DSP"?
Also, when I remove e.g. "DSP" in the MUA the directory ".DSP" is deleted, but not
"bincimap-uidvalidity-INBOX.DSP". Why not? Sorry, if I am asking a daft question, but
I am confused. Is there a good tutorial on this stuff somewhere on the web?

By the way, has bincimap been tested with SquirrelMail?

Regards
Sigmund.
