I started to try bincIMAP at the beginning of the week. I don't know if the problem come from bincIMAP or from my MUA (Sylpheed claws), but the performances are REALY bad! It took like 9h to mark 10 000 mails as read! And I never used as much swap before! I have 128 MB ram and 1 GIG of swap. However, my kernel has to kill bincIMAP a couple of time because they was both FULL. Scanning a folder is also resources intensive!
The problem do not come from networking, since the server is local (in the same box) as my client... Since it's my first contact with IMAP, I don't know if those poor performances are "normal"... -- Simon Comeau Martel [EMAIL PROTECTED]
