Thanx. I managed to disable the ISO-8859-1 support in squirrelmail's filter plugin, and this resolved the error. :) This did not completely resolv my problem, though, but that is a question for the people on squirrelmail's plugin list - i'll not bother you with that. Thanx for the reply. :)
Btw - these other messages in my log - are they normal? They do not seem to have any effect, but what do I know, eh? ;) /var/qmail/bincimap/bin does exists, and I've even made it world writable to see if that helped. No go. The others I haven't the faintest. - Lasse Danielsen (sorry if this has been asked before, but I haven't found anything in any previous post relevant..) --- <snip --- @400000003ef0f3b53af53d24 01135 00000 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:] Client connected to Binc IMAP from 127.0.0.1 @400000003ef0f3b603032bec 01135 00001 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:] Warning: unable to enter jail path "/var/qmail/bincimap/bin" @400000003ef0f3b60333b1cc 21255 00000 [EMAIL PROTECTED]@127.0.0.1:] User <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> entered authenticated mode. @400000003ef0f3b6039d1644 01135 00002 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:] Error, shutting down: readChar EOF @400000003ef0f3b603a9c074 21255 00001 [EMAIL PROTECTED]@127.0.0.1:] Shutting down - bodies:0 statements:2 @400000003ef0f3b603db1174 01135 00003 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:] Input warning, shutting down: in Broker::parse, in expectTag, in expectTagChar, readChar EOF @400000003ef0f3b603e15ad4 01135 00004 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:] Shutting down - read:30 wrote:136 --- <snap> --- -----Opprinnelig melding----- Fra: Eivind Kvedalen [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sendt: 19. juni 2003 00:04 Til: Lasse Danielsen Kopi: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Emne: Re: [bincimap] Squirrelmail and filters IMAP servers don't have to support character sets other than US-ASCII according to the standard. At the moment, Binc does exactly this, and responds with a NO reply (I hope!) when Squirrelmail wants to search using the ISO-8859-1 character set. In light of this, the best thing would be if Squirrelmail retried the request using US-ASCII when it got a NO reply as Binc gave above. You might suggest this on the Squirrelmail list. Eivind
