To make this more clear, I've found that squirrelmail does the following when I login: LOGIN LSUB "INBOX/" "*" LIST command for every subscribed folder LSUB "INBOX/" "*" LIST command for every subscribed folder (2) LSUB "INBOX/" "*" LIST command for every subscribed folder (3) LSUB "INBOX/" "*" [Retrieves headers for messages in INBOX (INBOX folder is displayed by default)] LSUB "INBOX/" "*" LIST command for every subscribed folder (again) And that's before I start using mail at all!! Something's wrong here. Is this a configuration issue, or is Squirrelmail severely broken?? 5 LSUBs and 4 LISTs of every subscribed folder seems a little excessive. I must say, this worked acceptably fast with courier-imap as the backend. Is it a capability issue? For example, does courier support some sort of functionality which binc either does not, or does not advertise, causing squirrelmail to assume lowest common denominator and use individual LIST commands instead of something else?
