We just started using SCCM about a year ago and I've taken the initiative for
handling and learning everything I can.

I'm responsible for everything from new hardware, QA, the entire OSD process,
troubleshooting anything that comes up. Building the reference images with MDT.
Drivers, applications, packages, collections etc. I try and get my hands in as
much as I can.

We have about 15 - 20 different models, between Microsoft tablets to Lenovo
tablets, desktops, and laptops. We also have some Intel NUC's in the field,
some two different types of mini-computers from the UK, can't remember name off
top of my head. And then also Asus Eeebox for our DP's.

We use to have four images, across both x86 and x64 but I moved us away from
x86 as fast as I could. So now we are down to two images. Windows 7 and 8.1.
Messed around with 10 a little but was not impressed.

We are a smaller company, around 500 machines, but I'm the only person who
deals with OSD. It's been a big learning curve but a fun challenge!

Subject: [MDT-OSD] How many on your staff work in "imaging"?

I'm curious what other teams are doing. How many people do you support? How
many images/OSes? Variety of hardware?

By "imaging", I'm including everything from soup to nuts:

Evaluating new hardware - Benchmark, QA, obtain and add drivers to SCCM/MDT.

Support hardware issues with new features, driver issues, accessory support
(docking, wireless, Bluetooth, etcetera.) User and tech education.

Manage current OS/base image - add/remove features, icons, look and feel.
Decide on standards. QA the builds.

Eval new OS'es. Create new base images. Features, icons, look and feel,
standards, QA as above.

Build and manage the deployments - build task sequences, test on assorted
hardware.

Build and manage MBAM/Bitlocker deployment. Script TPM activation, MBAM
install, test and deploy.

Manage replication of deployment solution to production.

3rd level support for all the above.

The floor is yours...
