Enabling it is HW inventory just tells ConfigMgr to grab the info from the WMI classes however these are custom WMI classes that get generated and populated by the client agent but only if you enable them in AI itself; IOW, without doing this all you are doing is telling HW inv to pick up info from some non-existent classes. You can certainly scope down which system you want to pick it up from in HW inv, but without enabling it in AI, I don’t think that there’s anything to pick up at all in the first place. Installed Applications attribute does return data. And the AI software reports do not gave any data. For clarity, what exactly do you mean when you say “query on Installed Software”? Also, simply adding the class in HW inventory is not sufficient. You must also enable it in AI in the console so that the clients know to gather the info in the first place. But you can see the AI classes getting inventories in the Hardware inventory cycle on the local computer. I would start there to confirm that it is working.
