Charging batteries is still quite mystical to me. Different types of
batteries like to be charged in different ways. Heck, one brand of
AGM may like to be charged differently than another brand. There was
a big flame war a couple years back on EVDL about Yellow Top charging
algorithms.
I have Soneil chargers and am happy with them but I don't have a lot
of experience yet. Here's a little ditty that might be helpful:

I used Soniel chargers on my Pulsar EV as a supplement to the bad-boy series charger I was using. The seem to work fine, but are of relatively low amps (1 to 5A), so it can take a very long time to charge if this is the sole means. I used them for topping off my Yellow Tops.
As has previously been noted, the other problem with many chargers is the probability of one failing without you noticing goes up the more you have. On a motorocycle, though, if you only have 4 to 8 batteries, its more reasonable to check for this every time, whereas on a car it might not be.
