As has previously been noted, the other problem with many chargers is the probability of one failing without you noticing goes up the more you have. On a motorocycle, though, if you only have 4 to 8 batteries, its more reasonable to check for this every time, whereas on a car it might not be.

Last weekend was in the low 60's and sunny. Not bad for November. I took the bike off the chargers and headed out for a spin thinking the pack voltage didn't seem right . But my head wasn't there. I really wanted to go for a ride. It wasn't a very long one either. I got home and plugged the bike in and noticed only one charger was coming on. So off goes the bodywork and sure enough, one of the chargers connectors vibrated loose. Turns out I only charged one pack from the previous ride. So what was probably the last chance to ride this year was done with one full pack and one empty pack. Now it's snowing and 26 degrees.

Grump.
