+1 Here. You are better off offering a "semi-kit" and limit your run to 5 or
10.
That way if you are stuck with raw parts, you can auction them off in lots.
Speaking of auctioning, you could list it with the webpage for support, or
even allow some of the EV dealers the chance to market it. Marketing is
tough and best left to those who have survived.

Our rule was money spent on hobbies didn't count...as long as we had food,
the lights were on, and the kids had clothing. :-)

I'd just make a section on the webpage that lists the source, board details,
parts lists, etc. Then point questions to this list (or yourself). I'd be
interested in testing/developing at the right time. My day job is going to
get very busy over the next couple of weeks and I hope to see my shop/garage
to decompress.

I still think the Palm project is valid. The real problem is not the
different units, but their different connectors. Let's not think about USB
interfaces. Too much pledging of first born children and human organs/limbs
for my taste.
