I actually have a motor from Jim Husted that has dual field windings and we will be playing around with it soon. This is the motor for 'Yellow Jacket', a bike we hope to run/race at 72VDC.
The armature is still wired and connected the same. The casing has 6 posts on it instead of the usual 4 for a series wound motor. When I get back home, I will try post a couple of pictures to the EM site photo section. For Mike, Yellow Jacket is a modified Super Pocket Bike frame that is going to be setup with this motor from Jim, 6 SVR AGM batteries, an Alltrax 72VDC controller (current value is far over 450A - special built for us) and a series/parallel contactor to switch the field in-flight. As Jack said, we may end up keeping wired in only one or the other, depending on the results, however, we want to see where it gets us. See ya, -- Shawn M.
